I am a former Pentecostal evangelist who renounced his beliefs for atheism in 1994. I have decided to write a blog where I share my thoughts and ideas about Christianity in general and the biblical God.
These are my top reads for believers on the fence, agnostics, atheists, and theists. The top four deal with the most common Christian beliefs and their refutations and the bottom three deal with how archeology does not agree historically with the biblical narratives. Enjoy and feel free to post your comments and reviews on these books or recommend others that you think may be useful as well.
@Moses, this coming from someone who doesn't know the difference between reality and delusion. How can you tell me that I was never a Pentecostal? Did you know me as a believer? NO! You only say so because it is hard for you to believe that someone could wake up from that unrealistic dream world you are living in.
Your entire belief system is based on scriptures that are self contradictory and often self refuting. But you can't see that, because you are so deluded by faith that you have completely abondoned reason and common sense. Read the Bible in its entirety from cover to cover you just might wake up!
Wow, I've read (and loved) four of these, but I need to read Godless, Mythic Past, and the Messiah myth. I believe a man named Jesus might have existed, but that very little (if any) of the Gospel's "history" is actually accurate about the man. But then again, I have not studied it as well as you have. I'll get the other three and read them. Thanks for the post!
Here is a clue Byron, the entire Jesus myth can be found in the Old Testament. Most of his so called sayings etc. are there and its not a fulfillment of biblical prophecy.
Byron, the best case against the existence of Christ is found in a book called The Jesus Puzzle by Earl Doherty here is the link to his web page and his books are awesome and have been praised by such atheist luminaries as Dr. Richard Carrier.

Yes, I really hope you are right. I would *LOVE* to come to the conclusion that Jesus never existed, personally. That may be subjective bias on my part, due to the fact I despise Christianity, but it is how I truly feel. I will read that book, too. Thanks!
I meant the first book you mentioned. I've read the second one, and gave my copy to an atheist friend, so I will order another copy of Robert Price's book (I wish it would show up on Kindle...sigh). It was excellent, but I need to re-read it. Thanks again.
