Blind faith vs. Reason

Only faith can guarantee the blessings that we hope for, or prove the existence of realities that are unseen. Hebrews 11:1 (NJB)

Faith is basically believing in something without valid evidence of its existence. It's an inner conviction based on your "gut feeling" that there is such a being called God, a creator of all things great and small. That is all good and well to believe, but at the same time all of it is nothing more than subjective.

Anyone who has been in love or infatuated can tell you that feelings are not a valid criteria upon which to make important decisions or judgments. Feelings are deceptive and at the same time blinding. Decisions based on emotions almost always tend to blind ones reason and cloud ones judgment. Logic demands objective evidence and an understanding before its states anything as fact.

I have always said that faith and reason are, have, and always will be irreconcilable due to the different views and requirements of both ideologies. Faith requires no evidence, it accepts what it has been taught (indoctrination) and what is written as divine. Reason analyzes the origin and history of the so called holy writ, and then judges it by its historical context, its contents, its historical accuracy, etc.

Once you set aside your fear and reverence for the bible and study it as you would any other work of literature, you will see the disparity in its contents. And you will realize that its claims to being divinely inspired are just that. Nothing could be substantiated as facts outside of the biblical texts themselves. There are many questions as to the veracity of the stories contained therein.

As a result of this, theologians are constantly hard at work to try to explicate the various and obvious flaws in the scriptures by coming up with exegesis. Through exegesis everything that is inconsistent with fact can then be reinterpreted in another sense such as allegory, or as a parable to try to take away from the fact that it is a disparity or contradiction.

Christians rejoice every time a so called archeological discovery is made that they believe serves as evidence of the truth of their beliefs (Shroud of Turin, Jesus family tomb, Noah's ark,etc.). Only to find out later on that they have been had, that what they believed were true artifacts turned out to be frauds. This demonstrates the power of indoctrination, it is so strong that no matter what evidence is shown in opposition of it it will never suffice.

Christians seek meaning in life, a reason for being. They refuse to accept that like all other life forms in this world and possibly elsewhere, we are born, we live, and we die. Their desire to live forever is met and satisfied with the false beliefs that they will survive death and live forever in a perfect place where there will no longer be pain nor sorrow. These beliefs are not rooted in fact, but faith and faith based on the bibles definition is nothing more than a delusion.

  1. Here’s our peAce de resistance: doesn't matter whether you believe or not, pal, you're STILL gonna croak in our lifelong demise; then, while our mortal bodies are recycled in the grave after our Finite Existence, our indelible soul rises-up to be judged at the General Judgment. Here’s the point I want you to consider before you leave this world: sex in Heaven. Why not?? Can’t God provide everything? Thot so. The Trinity is just as happy you made it to the realm where we can have anything we desire for eternity rather than the realm where we can have absolutely-placebo-nuthin; if Almighty God provides everything else, why not passionate, intimate love make’n for the length of eternity? Besides worship on ‘Sunday’, dunno bout you, but I want that. See, God knew the ol El Diablo would lie like a rug and trick U.S. into believing love make’n wouldn’t be possible in Heaven, so why not git a buncha ho’s and condemn yourself? Lookit Eminem. ‘Sex is just for earth’ you say? WRONG. If you have the desire, anything and everything is possible in the Great Beyond. So, dream big, America. God loves that. God loves U.S. to ‘pull Him down outta the sky’ and fantasize about where we’re going. God can and will provide if we have a seed of faith. God will water. I have faith in you, too. God bless you with discernment. -1 Peter 4:8-

Ps I made this 'uplifting' blog, one of eleven, to show humanity that you actually can do everything in the Great Beyond... for those who wanna. Why NOT believe just for this? I certainly would. Type-out on your browser 'Pascal's wager'. Be at peace, my friend. Enjoy.

  2. Dude, It really depends on just what you want to believe!

I believe Donald Trump will send me a blank check in the mail to fill out any amount I want, although he does not know my physical address, I have faith that he will send it anyway.

  3. sub/dude, that was a nice try but no cigar my friend. Of course death is inevitable for all of us, but I have come to terms with that. The whole soul and judgment thing I do not believe in. Pascals wager is ridiculous and in committing yourself to being a Christian requires sacrifice of your time, changes in your life style, and complete devotion to faith. None of which I am prepared to do since I have been there and done all of that before.

  4. What more does God have to do to convince you that He exists? Mankind was placed on this earth in a beautiful garden to enjoy life, but mankind turned their dominion of the earth over to the devil and that is why people on earth are sinful. However, John 3:16 says For God so loved the world that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ to this earth to reconcile us back to God. John 3:17 says, For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. Another scripture verse John 6:29 says Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent." How hard is it for you to accept a gift? His grace and unconditional love is free. It only takes the faith of a child, or the size of a mustard seed to believe and your faith will grow, and you will see miracles in your life. Heaven is our ultimate reward for believing, and eternity is forever. How simple is that? Just believe, God and His Son Jesus Christ did the hard part. ~Love and Peace

  5. I agree....just believe! God controls the entire universe...He is a sovereign God. The human mind can not comprehend the treasures God has in store for His children. This is purely a hypothetical question, but how would you feel if you sacrificed your only child to help save the world and people sneered at you? My guess is you would feel bitter, and that's understandable. But since Jesus Christ died for our sins we are pardoned and our sins are remembered no more and all God sees when He looks at us is the perfection of Jesus Christ at the cross. There are many scriptures in the Bible that say there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth in the end times...when the unbelievers realize how simple it was to 'just believe.' “I would rather believe in God and find out I was right than not to believe and find out I was wrong."

  6. In regards to the comments above about SEX:
Sex is a pleasure of our physical bodies. When we get to heaven we will receive glorified bodies that will allow us to be in the presence of an Almighty God. The Bible says we will be given mansions, pure gold crowns with jewels, and a new name. We will be so grateful to Jesus Christ for His sacrifice and dying to redeem us that we will honor Him and try to give Him our crowns to Him knowing that only He is truly worthy. The Bible is inspired...Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth. I challenge you to read the Holy Bible...the truth in it will ring like a crystal bell and will give you peace amidst the chaos of this world...and you will discover eternity awaits us and HEAVEN will be even better than SEX!

  7. Thanks for the sermon guys, and I guess you have not been paying attention to my blog. I have read the bible in its entirety 4x in fact. And it was not as clear as a bell. In fact, it brought up more questions than answers. I hate it when people quote Jesus from the bible, since everybody knows that Jesus did not write a single word that is contained in the N.T. In fact what you are reading are second and third hand accounts. The sayings of Jesus should be placed in quotations instead of being written as actual statements.

  8. Anonymous after having studied the origins of religious beliefs I have a hard time believing in fairy tales. The bible as this blog states is just a book of traditional Hebrew, and Sumerian myths and Christianity is an offshoot of the myths derived from the Essenes. That is where the dead sea scrolls are derived from.
